1. ONGOING SCENE STUDY & AUDITION CLASS - 
IN PERSON/ONLINE HYBRID

2. ACTING IN TV/FILM COMEDY (online)
Wednesday, February 11th 6:00-8:00 pm
Do you want to add more television comedy credits to your resume? Instructor Michael D. Cohen applies his unique holistic approach to comedy to help you bring your unique truth, aliveness and playfulness to your work. Learn specific techniques for analyzing a scene for comedy, nailing the jokes, tone and pacing, and make acting choices that respect the writers yet make you stand out in the casting session. This is a hands-on workshop in which a few members will be asked from the audience to work at the front of the room. You may bring a comedic monologue or a prepared scene if you wish to volunteer.

3. AUDITIONING FOR TV/FILM COMEDIES (in person)

THE GROUNDLINGS SCHOOL
This seminar will offer techniques for nailing TV comedy auditions. We will address multi-cam vs single-cam tone, finding the jokes, nailing the timing, physical comedy, and more. Learn specific techniques for analyzing a scene for comedy, nailing the jokes, tone and pacing, and make acting choices that respect the writers yet make you stand out in the casting session.

4. TRAUMA INFORMED PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP
Saturday, March 28th & Sunday, March 29th
10am - 6pm
Melrose location (between Fairfax & La Brea)

For Actors • Dancers • Singers • Standups • Improvisors • Public Speakers
10 participants max
Therapeutic techniques used for processing trauma are also powerful tools for performers seeking greater
presence, power, and authenticity on stage. In a supportive, fun, and professionally facilitated environment,
participants will gain tools to:
• Identify and transform performance blocks
• Learn tools to create character and story using brain-based techniques
• Access your authenticity and innate power as a performer

You will bring a piece to work on in your discipline — scene, monologue, speech, song, dance, or improvisation —
and work directly with the facilitators to deepen and elevate it.
DAY 1 — BRAINSPOTTING - A neurobiological approach developed by David Grand to process trauma and unlock creative depth. Widely used by artists to quickly access emotional truth and embodied presence.
DAY 2 — IFS PARTS WORK (Internal Family Systems) Developed by Richard Schwartz, IFS identifies and works with the various parts of our being. This framework supports both healing performance blocks and creatively utilizing inner parts for performance.
